My all time favourite feedback from couples is when they tell me it was like having a friend there on the day. Someone who they trusted to have their back, to help ease those pre-wedding nerves and to have a giggle with them.
I don’t disappear into the background on your wedding day like a wildlife photographer hidden in the bushes wearing camo. Think of me as another guest, immersed with your friends and family – just one that will whisk you both off for some romantic photographs at some point!
Getting to know you
I love getting to know you ahead of the day. I am a sucker for a love story so I want to know all about how you met, how the proposal went down and all about your plans for the day and beyond. I love a bit of romance! That way, when I arrive on your wedding morning, there’ll be no awkward hellos with a stranger, it’s just me, turning up to spend the day with you and your loved ones.
Cool, calm and collected
In a previous life I managed weddings at a venue, and is where I totally fell in love with the magic of a wedding day. My background means that nothing can happen that I haven’t seen before. I know weddings like the back of my hand and nothing phases me!
One big softie
My favourite thing about weddings is that they bring together all of the best people in your life. I know just how important it is to capture those moments and preserve those memories.
Photographs of you hugging your grandparents, laughing with your friends and crying with your parents are so important now but they’ll become even more special as the years go by.
I know that weddings are about you two but they are also for your family and friends too. It’s a time to come together and celebrate love, affection and friendship.
If we didn’t want that camaraderie, those memories, that party, then we’d all run off to a registry office, have a five minute ‘legal bit’ and be done with it!
…who’s got the moves
Well, ok, not really, but I spend the whole day getting stuck in and the dancefloor is no different. There’s no way to capture all the dancefloor action without getting on there myself!
And finally…I’m a dab hand
with a needle and thread too
Yep, you read that right, I have a little emergency kit in my bag. It’s full of all kinds of bits and bobs and if you need a helping hand then I’m there. You would be surprised how often it’s needed and I’m always thankful I have it with me!
